Texas lost...

The University of Texas - my favorite sports team and program of any teams I root for lost the BCS National Championship game tonight... I knew going in to it I'd have a powerful emotion come out of me and that was so. When the Longhorns won the Big 12 Championship I nearly cried and if they had won tonight the outcome of my emotion would have been even stronger. But with the loss, I only feel sorrow and depressed - not quite sure what to think. Yes, the young freshman who took quarterback Colt McCoy's place, who was injured at the beginning of the first half, stepped up and began to play well in the second half, but it was not enough and I'm not sure if it will even be enough for next year. People say there's always next year, well yes there is but this years team was like no other - solid in every aspect on the field. If McCoy had not got injured, he would have solidified the team through-out the game and the Texas Longhorns would have won the national championship. I can't even imagine how he felt watching his dreams slip away as he just stood on the sideline... Well, there is indeed always next year and I'll be right there with my Longhorns as they pursue the crystal football they held after the 2005 season.
